DENTAL IMPLANTS
SMILE WITH CONFIDENCE AND FINALLY EAT THE FOODS YOU’VE ALWAYS DESIRED
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw. It’s a reliable solution for missing teeth, and it looks and functions like a natural tooth.
The implant is often made of titanium, and is placed carefully into the jawbone.
Once the implant is in place, we can add a replacement tooth, bridge or a denture to replace multiple teeth.
What should I expect when I have a dental implant?
The first step in the process is to schedule a consultation with one of our implant dentists at Belwell Dental.
During this consultation, we’ll assess your overall oral health, discuss your goals and expectations for treatment, and determine if dental implants are the right option for you. If we determine that dental implants are a good fit for your needs, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan that is tailored to your unique situation.
The next step in the process is placing the implant. We typically perform this procedure using local anaesthesia. During the procedure, a small area is created in the jawbone, and the implant is inserted into the hole. The incision is then closed with sutures, and a healing cap is placed on top of the implant.
After the implant has been placed, you’ll need to allow some time for the implant to integrate with your jawbone. The exact time will be outlined by your dentist. During this healing period, you may be fitted with a temporary denture to help you eat and speak normally.
Once the implant has fully bedded into the bone, you’ll return to our practice for the final restoration. We create a custom fit tooth for the space that you wish to replace.
The final restoration will be matched to your existing teeth in shape, size and colour, giving you a natural looking tooth.

THE TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS AVAILABLE AT BELWELL DENTAL
At Belwell Dental in Sutton Coldfield, we use the latest and most up to date technology to provide our patients with the highest level of patient care for dental implant treatments.
Single Dental Implant
Single implants are recommended to act as a replacement when a single tooth is missing or if a tooth needs to be extracted. If you are missing just one natural tooth, then generally a single implant is all that will be needed to provide a replacement.
Single implant treatment is ideal when we do not want to damage, modify or impact the healthy adjacent teeth on either side of the missing tooth.
Multiple Dental Implant
Multiple dental implants provide several advantages over fixed bridges and removable partial dentures. In addition to looking and functioning like natural teeth, multiple tooth dental implants replace teeth without support from the adjacent natural teeth.
Implant Retained Dentures
Implant retained dentures at Belwell Dental look, feel and function in a very natural way. There is no need for glue or covering your mouth in case your dentures fall out. With this treatment your smile can be functional and beautiful again allowing you to eat and smile with confidence.
SMILE IN A DAY
Smile in a day treatment is a long-lasting solution for replacing loose, rotten, missing, or failing teeth with a full set of dental implants in one day. The treatment is used for people with little or no teeth and is an alternative to the traditional placement of multiple dental implants or a full set of dentures. A set of four to six dental implants replace a whole arch of missing teeth and are usually fitted all on the same day. Smile in a day treatment is also referred to as teeth in a day, full mouth dental implants, or All-On-4 dental implants.
